Nuyorican.

It's not a word you'll find on a map. It wasn't handed down from the island or stamped on a passport. It was born on the streets of New York City.

It's what happened when Puerto Ricans came north and built something new out of two worlds — on the fire escapes of El Barrio, at the piragua carts on every summer corner, inside the bodegas that were open when nothing else was.

Vol. 1 of the Nuyorican Series documents three of those places. Three shirts. Three stories. All made for the people who already know what these things mean.
